How would you describe my personal style?
I’m trying to develop a more defined "personal style." I’m 22, 5′4, 110 pounds, dark blonde, blue eyes if this helps.

I like to wear basics and mix them up a little bit. I really like girly/feminine things like ruffles and floral, and boho/hippie styles like long skirts, tie dye and paisley. I really like jeans of all kinds — skinny and bootcut in dark and light rinses (my favorite jeans are Joe’s and Sevens, but I just got a light destroyed boyfriend pair from Madewell that I am sure I will wear a lot!). I also like full mini skirts and maxi dresses.

I’m not that into shoes — I usually wear colored Converses (pink or purple), ballet flats or riding boots. I’m also not that into accessories — I have my nose pierced, wear the same necklace and bracelet every day, and usually earrings but I mix those up more.

Most of my clothes are probably from J.Crew, American Apparel and Urban Outfitters, or department stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales (sale items only!). On a typical day I’m probably wearing jeans, a tshirt, a ruffly cardigan and a fun scarf. For jackets I either wear a fleece or a short cute wool coat but I really want a leather jacket (or faux-leather since I’m a veggie).

Is my style boring? I definitely do wear all of the regular girl "uniform" things of Uggs, Seven jeans, Longchamp tote or Coach cross-body bag (not the kind with the "C"s all over it), Mountain Hardwear fleece, etc. but I don’t want to look cookie-cutter. I grew up in a really preppy area and was very preppy in high school (I basically only wore J.Crew, Polo and Lilly Pulitzer) but I’m not like that anymore. But I’m also not that "trendy" — I like leggings, boyfriend jeans and maxi dresses right now, but don’t really buy into trends unless I honestly like them and they will last for a long time.

I also like really cute things — I ordered this Swatch watch, for example: http://image.www.rakuten.co.jp/parksgall ery/img1006519081.jpeg

I’m not really into following celebrities’ style but I really love anything Whitney Port or the Olsen twins wear.

How would you describe my style? Do you like it? Is it too boring? What would you think of me if you saw me on the street? Where should I shop? What items do you think would fit well into my wardrobe? Appreciate any input!
I know it’s a lot haha … I ramble. I also really love glitter and sequins!
Ha, laughing at the person who said mentioning the Olsens is "so 15." They have great style! And are very respected by adults, I don’t think they are even popular among teenagers now.

I grew up in VA, went to school in Chicago, and have lived in Paris, New York and Atlanta … kind of diverse I guess but no west coast!

k im not reading all that. see ya

Your style sounds bohemian to me.

To me, it sounds like you got that boho casual thing going on. The way you described yourself, I can see you walking out of a J.Crew ad. NOT that that is bad in the least, because it is not. I think though you’re confusing trends with fads. Leggings, scarves, maxi dresses are trends….sequins are fads (not many come up from season to season). Trends are guaranteed to last for at least 5 years..so buy into them, trust me you’ll be glad. Really I think it’s mostly about you. Where do you live? Where do you go to school? What do you like to do? Things like this define you AND your style.

For example, I am a year older than you, and in the past 5 years have moved around from 2 major cities with 2 very different styles. So as I went to a different area my style changed. It went from crazy colorful and surfer-esque, to neutral and classic

All in all, you sound cute, like a typical American girl (also not bad, not in the least). If you want to make your style pop a little more, change up your purse, buy some different shoes (believe me, flats can be just as comfortable as converses), instead of a scarf try multiple necklaces. If you’re into color, wear a statement color while leaving everything else neutral. Experiment, the worst that can happen is that it wont work out. That’s the best thing about fashion!!

I was w/ you til you showed the watch & mentioned the Olsen twins, so
Potentially amazing,
Ultimately a failure.

Show you dress like the twins, but don’t mention them. That’s so 15.
