 Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
IMDB rating: 6.90
Plot: It is the time of the Crusades during the Middle Ages – the world shaping 200-year collision between Europe and the East. A blacksmith named Balian has lost his family and nearly his faith. The religious wars raging in the far-off Holy Land seem remote to him, yet he is pulled into that immense drama. Amid the pageantry and intrigues of medieval Jerusalem he falls in love, grows into a leader, and ultimately uses all his courage and skill to defend the city against staggering odds. Destiny comes seeking Balian in the form of a great knight, Godfrey of Ibelin, a Crusader briefly home to France from fighting in the East. Revealing himself as Balian’s father, Godfrey shows him the true meaning of knighthood and takes him on a journey across continents to the fabled Holy City. In Jerusalem at that moment–between the Second and Third Crusades–a fragile peace prevails, through the efforts of its enlightened Christian king, Baldwin IV, aided by his advisor Tiberias, and the military restraint of the legendary Muslim leader Saladin. But Baldwin’s days are numbered, and strains of fanaticism, greed, and jealousy among the Crusaders threaten to shatter the truce. King Baldwin’s vision of peace–a kingdom of heaven–is shared by a handful of knights, including Godfrey of Ibelin, who swear to uphold it with their lives and honor. As Godfrey passes his sword to his son, he also passes on that sacred oath: to protect the helpless, safeguard the peace, and work toward harmony between religions and cultures, so that a kingdom of heaven can flourish on earth. Balian takes the sword and steps into history.

Christians: Do you think this may be the reason for atheists are with us in R&S page?
There is a wonderful parable in Bible saying about the situation in which God allows the weeds (people of darkness) to grow with God’s people. This is true in the case inside a church and the thing to understand is we are the church.
I think God itself is the one who let the atheists and others with us. If so, our master will gather them first in the end and we can’t do nothing till that time. what we can do is to prevent ourselves (good seed) in growing without getting affected by the weeds.
Matthew 13:24-30: He put another parable before them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’"
The tares are among us and even at the end times, the beast will actually overpower the saints. Hang tough bro. It’s going to get worse than this. God bless you

You have just got to love a religion that conditions its followers to view their fellow human beings as "weeds" and "people of darkness".
Hubris much?

No, I don’t. I think the atheists are here because they are either interested in religions and spirituality or they are here to do the opposite of the street converters. I also am not so conceited to think of myself as better than anyone just because of my religion.

Weeds are only unwanted plants.
Ergo, you are a weed.
Have a nice day.

Great point. I love that parable.

Doesn’t the wheat get ground up and baked into bread in the same oven?
Nobody wins in that story.

So, not only am I NOT worthy of learning and hearing about your God, I’m a "person of darkness", a weed, and your enemy?!?!?
How, just when I thought you people couldn’t get worse – you proved me wrong.
Nice…..just nice. I’m glad I never insult you, belittle you, discredit you, or attempt to make something out of you that you aren’t.

Nope. They’re here to discuss religion. Period. They are welcome here, too.

That is a beautiful sentiment. I wish more Christians were like you. Sounds like something Jesus might say. You are a good person. Not kidding.

I weep for the species.
It’s official now, bible thumpers are irrational.
No, not just that.
They might actually be dangerous.
Like, say, irrational WEEDS?

Within the parable, I think the tares refer to those who preach false doctrine, and disguise their doctrine as Christianity.
I think Atheists hang out here to debate, maybe attempt to convert others to "the dark side"

In part, and the bitterness of many, for lack of comfort, will deploy a sea of lies against you and Yet it All falls on Christ whom even now appears before the throne as the Lamb

Well, that’s one of the biggest cases of hubris that I’ve seen in a while.

well as an atheist i find it to be my duty to spread the word that god dosent exist, so not only do i go to Q&A i go door to door, leave windshield wiper fryers. i have pamphlets if you would like. nice clouds say do you know jesus, then when you open it baby powder falls out and the inside lists the reasons atheism can lead you to the perfect after life.
