This challenge, along with the ordinary vicissitudes of missionary life begin to wear on her, and thus in the process of sharing the Gospel, Sister Taylor finds herself gaining a better understanding of its key precepts: faith, repentance, forgiveness, and charity.

Why am I always tired?
I know that I don’t get enough sleep due to my work schedule but it seems as though I am ALWAYS tired…I work a 10pm-6:30am shift 5 nights a week…I have a 9yr old son who is in school 5 days a week in which I try to sleep while he is at school. Here is a quick breakdown of my day:

Sat-Wed night work 10pm-6.30am
Mon-Thurs morning get home about 7am; Rest for about 30mins before waking up my son to get him ready for school; 8am he is off to school; 8-10am run errands, clean up, decide what is for dinner; 10am or so I lay down and stare at the TV until my eyes get tired…sleep until about 1pm…now I am up and have NOTHING to do…3:20 here comes my angel of a child from school; time for homework; snack; take him to the park or let him play outside with his friends; 5pm time to make dinner; 6pm he comes in the house and it’s time for dinner; 6:30pm I am back laying down staring at the TV or reading a book; 8:45pm time to wake up and get ready for work…

OMG now that I typed that I see that I do have some time to sleep but it’s like my brain doesn’t shut down long enough…people have suggested going to the doctor to get a sleep aid but I have quite wrapped my head around that…so I guess I have 2 questions:
1. Why am I so tired?
2. What can I do?
I am not looking for medical advice…just some pointers from the online community…

Rude comments will be reported…

I am glad you realize your schedule is very busy. I agree with the other answer, you are not getting enough of the right kind of sleep. I don’t recommend getting any kind of sleep aides. This isn’t going to help your problem. You do what I do. I have trouble sleeping too. I let my mind wonder of all the things I need to do. Try to relax without the TV on. Have you thought of sleeping after you little on goes to school and then run errands? Or do the errands on your days off?

My son is the same age. Do you have him help out with dinner? Mine likes to help from time to time. Make dinner simple or make some meals in advance to make it easy during the work week. Take care.

Well you are probably getting not enough sleep, you should probably tone your day down a bit, and that bit of extra sleep could really help you. Also on days that are free try to sleep as much as you can.
im only 16 but i am constantly tired about everything.
do you feel like your stressed out?
do you feel like your worrying?
finding it hard to sleep?

i get all those and a few more things. try meditating alot [breathing exercises], try getting 10 hrs sleep [they say people older than 12 need 10 hrs] try writing down your thoughts if your stressing to calm yourself down, it works like a charm for me, never denie yourself sleep, if your tired to me sleep comes first [haha thats a teenage boy for you] (that one may be hard for you).
try yoga, a new bed, check if you have any back problems.

that all applied for me and i was tire no-matter when or where i was. turns out i had a twisted pelvis, and i naturally stress loads and that was effectively making me more tired through my sub conscience [weird...] but i started that writing thoughts out technique and it reallllllly works.

also i find i get sick when i get really tired, try eating before you sleep.

also night shifts may be a huge factor there. depending on your profession, try getting another job with the same profession but during the day. because believe me as your child grows into his teen years it gets alot harder for both him and yourself.

try sleeping instead of reading and watchin t.v. decide dinner when you are at the park maybe – and with that try planning a day ahead i.e. dinner plans for friday made on thursday so your not that rushed.

i HIGHLY recomend meditation techniques and yoga, they word a dream for people who struggle for sleep. the meditation can be used to make you fall asleep.

i go to bed a 12am and wake up at 6.30am for the bus – im only 16 but i have huge amounts of work and sport and extra corriculum.

even if your not asleep they say closing your eyes has a good effect and just laying there in silence – as if you were if you were trying to fall asleep.

sorry for legnth haha.

but if you have any problems or didnt understand it feel free to email me, im only 16 so i wont bite.
but sleeping is kinda my thing; love it more than my girlfriend haha [not really]
Parents are tired. They are responsible. They sacrifice for others. Revel in your tiredness. Rock that exhaustion. It’s for a good cause. You’ll be wrinkly and grey, but your kid will be happy healthy and loved. Maybe get back together with the father, though, so you two can tag team on sleep. I know he’s kind of a jerk, but so is everybody. The grass is always greener…
WhachooSay | Feb 23, 2009

First of all congradulate yourself, because you really are being responsible and you sound like a great Mom. You need to reset your internal clock so you can get into that deep REM sleep. You can get help from a sleep clinic. Or you can try to do it yourself.
You need 8 hours of sleep minimuim. So your son needs to go somewhere after school. or you need to ask for a different schedule, or consider trying for another job.
In the meantime, you have to have those 8 hrs or you will be no good to anyone. This is very unhealthy and must be effecting all kinds of internal organs, the stress hormone alone will pack on pounds and that can lead to heart problems.
Try making the morning a very precious time. So as soon as you get home, get busy, prepare a meal and do some chores before he gets up, or get him up earlier. When you do some chores enjoy a fast pace, because even though you are tired you are going to get a good nights rest. Prepare a nice meal for yourself and your son.Make it special and have fun. Make sure it is light and healthy {no heavy complex carbs like pasta, potatoes and bread, consider salad and a light protein, resist junk food and chocolate or caffinated drinks or spicey food}. What you eat effects your sleep. No food after this meal.
Get him off to school leave errands for a weekend. Go straight home, pull your black out drapes, take a quick soothing bath, take a sleeping pill {I use anti-nausea pills which my pharm. told me was the same thing} turn on a floor fan to dull noise, and go to sleep. It might take two pills at first because it is new. Oh, and set your alarm for eight hours. {that’s in bed by nine and up by five} Have your child delivered home by five. Have a satisfying meal with him {here you can have the complex carbs} do an activity such as walking, and projects around the home, give him some chores, help him with homework etc. , then get him into bed and go to work. Focus on balance and health. You can read up on eating that maximizes your energy. Herbal teas such as Kombunca and Chinese Mushroom tea is excellent. So is fresh food, It is the only way you can do this right now.
His unemployment and the fact that there is no woman in the house to care for the children, Evelyn, Dermot and Maurice, make it clear to the authorities that his is an untenable situation. The Catholic Church and the Irish courts decide to put the Doyle children into Church-run orphanages. Although a sympathetic judge assures Desmond that when his financial situation reverses, he will be able to get his children back; money is hard to come by. During that time, Evelyn and her brothers suffer the abuses of living in orphanages while Desmond struggles to secure finances. Now he must battle the courts to get his children back.

What do you think about these names for my twins?
Hello! My husband and I are expecting boy/girl twins (due this May!) and are incredibly excited. We already have two girls, Scarlett Janae and Tatiana Hope (ask for pronunciation if you’re unsure…), and are considering Elodie Noelle for the girl and Chase Anthony for the boy. What do you think? Do these sound good together:

Scarlett Janae (nn: Scarly)
Tatiana Hope (nn: Yana)
Elodie Noelle
Chase Anthony

Scarlett, Tatiana, Elodie and Chase? I also love the name Eloise for a girl and Jameson for a boy, and my husband contributed Davis and Evelyn.

We love names with ‘n’s and ‘l’s, as you might be able to tell haha. Anthony is in honor of my husband’s brother Antoine (we didn’t want to use Antoine because there’s already an Antoine and an Antoine, jr.) and Noelle is also meaningful to us because we met in France around Christmastime and my husband is French (Elodie is also a French name). Opinions? Suggestions?

Thank you!!
Valeria- what’s wrong with plus-sized, transgendered people?

Elodie is such a beautiful, sweet name. I love it! I’ve never thought about it before but it’s perfect.
I’m not so much a fan of Chase Anthony, I’ve always disliked both names.
Sarah | Feb 04, 2010

I think they are both beautiful names. In fact all your childrens names are. They are so individual, especially tatiana and elodie Congratulations
Lucy | Feb 04, 2010

I love Elodie or Eloise, Evelyn was my horrid 5th grade english teacher so even if its a beautiful name i cant help but associate it with her For a boy i’d go with Jameson, i like it way better than Chase. But in the end its your choice right? I love your children’s first names they are so cute together!! Best of luck with your twins!!
The Little Hangman | Feb 04, 2010

Yes, they go well together…unfortunately that doesn’t mean I like them all. So here’s the lowdown:

Scarlett: Neutral —pretty and cheap-sounding at the same time.
Janae: No —too difficult to figure out pronunciation. Is it Jan-EYE, Jan-EE, Janna, or what?
Tatiana: Yes —lush and exotic
Hope: Yes —nice sound, nice, meaning, and easy to spell. Yay!
Elodie: No —Eloise is better.
Noelle: Yes: Lovely
Chase: No —it’s a verb –like jump, run, swim, etc.
Anthony: Yes —classic but not overused
Eloise: Yes —pretty and different
Jameson: Neutral —I like it as a last name
Davis: Yes —a cool alternative to David
Evelyn: No —it is too dated.

ESPN and other media's makes me sick, they are annoying. They know how to insult other teams, trust me.?
The fact is they are annoying, all they talk about how Lebron and Kobe did so far, but they never talk about D. Wade, or other young stars.

If Kobe and Lebron scores 30pts two games in a row, there u go here goes the talk so who is better Kobe or Lebron, seriously u guys are annyoing ESPN and other media.

Or they do something like flashback how they did it before and now. Who cares, talk something different lame media

We say bandweagon, ESPN are the most beandweagoners I ever seen. Now they are all over New Orleans Saints, if they lose and have a bad season they will insult them.

When Nets having bad record they insutled them

Media knows how to insult people.

ESPN= Too many fools they don’t know how to talk.

ESPN= Wrong for sports stuff, because they insult people.

BQ

Do u think Spurs will face Celtics at NBA final someday?

Thanks

ESPN is all that cause Americans are like that. ESPN gives what people want.

Or don’t Americans get obsessed with celebrities/stars? How about Tiger Woods (1 golfer receives more than 50% of attention/news).

Americans have a bandwagon nation. Example: Steelers jerseys all over the country from people that have never been to Pittsburgh. People wanna be associated with success and jump on the bandwagon Yankees, Red Sox, Steelers, Cavs. All those and others have true fans, but there is a share of bandwagon ones.

And they don’t insult people. They are very lenient. Look a Woods: he is really an arrogant cheating scumbag, for ESPN he is great.

 Viva Mexico | Dec 03, 2009

That’s not really true, Yea you insult the bad teams because threes nothing really good to say, like there going for the worst start ever, but they play great basketball, no it just sounds wrong, If a team is going things good they complament them cus there nothing to say bad about them!

One day i think they will. And Boston will win!
josh mains bihh | Dec 03, 2009

Yes. They just released an article on Ron Artest drinking booze during half-time of games too.

-Yes I believe they’ll face someday
I agree with you and I have been saying that for years. I’m a Raider fan and I have heard the insults about the Raiders for years. Yes we know they not a good team but some of the people on there take it too far. I agree with you about the Saints. The saints have been one of the worst teams in NFL history but now they all about the Saints. It isn’t all of the media, because I work in the media and not all of us are like that. But we are asked to do a job and sometimes we have to express our thoughts about topics. But you are dead on about ESPN. Dwayne Wade gets his time on ESPN, but they Heat aren’t as good as the Lakers so he doesn’t get much coverage.
I agree with some of this stuff, your def right they pay lots of attention to lebron and kobe. but you need to understand they do this becaues they know ppl want to hear about them more than anyone else.

its all about getting more ppl to watch, the money makes the world go round.

spurs wont see the celtics in the finals anytime soon. magic are too deep and solid. lakers are set to win championships in the next 5 years, they are too strong. too much depth

HOW DOES THIS SOUND TO YOU??!?
OK so i worked pretty fast on this poem..but it still came out good!! imagine taking time now/?? ok getting to the point..i wrote this poem and i wanted u guys to read and tell me what u thought while reading it and if u liked it or not! ON a scale of 1-10 how good was it?!(im 15 btw)
THIS may sound sick and twisted just so u know..This poem is based on a MAN and A CHILD (age 15 like me lol)

HERE it goes:
I got a hand on your weapon
I got a hand on your soul
Now that i got both hands on you, im in total control

Your body on a table locked up by every chain
I can see the fear running through every vein
My craving is rising I need to see you in pain
What you’re about to experience is surely insane

I sharpen my dagger and watch your eyes grow wider
After you’re all cut up, I’ll pour some apple sider
Laying the dagger on your flat chest so vulnerable
Oh dont under estimate my wills I’am of all capable

My hand covers your mouth as to muffle your screams
Im about to start my conquest, I’ll even take it to extremes
Sliding the dagger across your bare pale chest
Your body shudders and shivers stimulating your manifest
Your Blood seeping out and onto my arms
Oh this is beautiful! better than a million charms

I love this moment, I hear those screams of agony
They rip, tear and sink right into me
Slowly looking into your eyes and seek the sorrow they contain
Oh how much pleasure and happiness from this I obtain
Tears from you child are flooding endlessly
I give you an evil glare and look on ominousely

Hush little child dont say a word
Just the screams i crave that sound absurd

You dont know me but i know you
I stalked you december and january too
Starring down on you, looking so helpless
I laugh, you can’t do a thing as I rob your innocence

Can’t scream anymore your throat is sore
I close the doors behind me untill the next morn
I hope your cuts heal cuz i will cut you more

So what u guys think..Thanks for taking the time to read this!

i like all but the last paragraph
it just felt awkward compared to the rest of the flow
i think you’re a good writer =) (i write poetry too, so i’d know)
what inspired this poem? (message me if you like)

Does this guy like me?
Lol; boy issues. So, lets get to the point. There’s this guy. In my grade. Both of us 13 yrs. About three months older than me. I have both Math and Health classes with him. He has blond hair and blue eyes, and he’s about my height, maybe two inches taller. We’ve had repetitive eye contact b4. He has a Myspace, and I don’t, but his is set 2 private (lol). His locker is 4 down from mine. Today in Health, he basically had to sit next to me bcause he came in "late". (Haha I was secretly enjoying it) So now, I will bore you 2 death by recalling so-called "incidents" having happened between me and him. A couple months ago, I was on my way 2 Gym, and bcause I have lost my mind (lol), I was on my knees bcause I am UBER unorganized, so anyway, I’m digging out my Gym bag from the bottom of my locker, and on his way 2 HIS locker, he steps on my feet. Then, he looked in my eyes, smiled, and apologized. In Math class, whenever he’s chosen to pass out stuff and whatnot (graded paperwork), he would always pass mine to me as if I was a massive booger, obviously disgusted. Maybe it was a cover…? Then, (also in Math), my friend and I were the first 2 to complete some paper that the class was given, so we were allowed to use the 2 computers in the room for "playtime use" until class was over. Well, my friend got hers to turn on and actually WORK, while I got playfully mad at my computer, saying that it hated me. I got everyone’s attention (hehe), and then me and the guy locked eyes. (Aww!) Sorry, I just felt like pausing there lol. Anyways, while the whole eye-locking routine thingamajig "took on a life of it’s own", he laughed. About the computer sitiation. Another incident that happened a couple months ago was that all junior high students were to report to the high school gym for an assembly. None of us were assigned seats, or places. I sat with one of my friends. A couple seconds later, the guy comes in with his friends, and sits down. Right behind me. So, during the assembly, I kept looking back at the clock. Well, that was really just an excuse to look at the guy. So, anyway, we had repetitive eye contact the whole assembly. Then, later into it, he said my name, at least for all I know, (first and last name), and so I turned around and I said "What?" One of his friends started laughing and said "Dude, she heard you!", and so that pretty much ended that. But afterwards, I felt so dumb bcause I was just like, "What? What happened?" There was one more incident, but I 4got it, so if and when I remember it, I’ll update this.
So, does he like me back? Or am I just being paranoid?
Sorry 4 it being soooooo long!
So thank you very much 4 taking your time 2 read this!

How come Dutch/Nordics can speak perfect English, unlike East Europeans, such as Romanians and Polish?
This is what I saw and it’s pretty much fact. Romanains it seems never bothered to practice their English but act as if they know it. The Dutch and Nordics have perfect English skills and always seem to enjoy talking to foreigners in it, unlike backward Romanians and Poles. I am not talking about old people from the communist times, I am talking about among younger groups that live in the capital and large towns.. They’re suppose to know it cause America and Britain are the world leaders, not them. It seems stupid because people in Romania listen to American music, and can recite a song, but can’t put together a proper conversation.

Maybe they are still more exposed to Russian and Slavic languages than English
Samian (Geaux SAINTS!!!) | Feb 06, 2010

My experience is that the central and east european people think they can manage in their own language, mainly because the television broadcasting is also dubbed in their language. (Sex & the city in czech… lol!) You see this in France as well.

And a lot of the younger people, who do learn the english at school, are to shy to display their knowledge.
merlijn | Feb 06, 2010

So how many languages can you speak ‘perfectly’ then?

By calling the likes of Romanians, Polish or indeed any other nationality, backward because they are not fluent in English, would suggest that all monolingual people (possibly including yourself) are also backward.

Some people may think of your question as somewhat racist!
mal g | Feb 06, 2010

I wouldn’t be racist (mal g) because as far as I know, eastern Europeans are mainly white. The question would be more ignorant than anything else.

Can a planet have a soul?
I was wondering this after seeing "Avatar." I’ve also seen other movies with a similar motif, such as the "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" movie. Can the network of organisms on a planet lead to some sort of greater consciousness, like the networks of cells within our bodies housing a soul? Could different genuses or species be similar to different body tissues, carrying out specific functions but also being part of a greater whole?
Could there be some kind of higher organizations that we can’t yet understand?
You guys are too serious. I was merely asking what might be, not what is. Perhaps that’s what is wrong with us; too many of us are too invested in what we believe to be true to see what might actually be true.

No. Human beings have souls. Planets do not. Movies are fun because they provide entertainment and distraction from the realities of life. That very distraction from reality does not make for good understanding of spiritual truths however.

You have an individual, God-created soul and you are accountable to God for how you live your life as a soul. You are not connected to some planetary system of consciousness.
If you think as the earth as one entity, wouldn’t we be considered it’s soul?
In Avatar the organisms were physically linked, or could be, so the biosphere was more analogous to the internet than to a soul.
No, just as other fictional events protrayed in films can’t come true
when we believe the thoughts in our head, when we think they have ultimate and true value, then we’re in a state of delusion. Thoughts may have some practical usefulness in life, but they don’t tell us what’s ultimately real or what’s ultimately true. So imagine this: nothing that you imagine, none of your beliefs or opinions are ultimately real or true. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have a belief or you shouldn’t have an opinion; your mind will have them. But to see that they’re not really true can be very, very liberating.
